Why Choose Private Childbirth Education?

When I was pregnant 4 years ago I didn’t realize there were any options outside of hospital or online classes for the type of birth I wanted. Not wanting a natural birth felt like it eliminated all of the independent instructors and courses. So I read as much as I could, I took a 4-hour class at the hospital with my husband and walked away feeling what I thought was prepared. This was all they were telling me I needed so it must be enough, right?

The problem with this model was A.) it’s nearly impossible to cram everything most people want to know about birth into 4 hours, and B.) it’s not very personable. Public, free childbirth classes are great resources to the community but most parents find themselves wanting more, if not immediately after the class then when birth actually rolls around.

Private childbirth education gives you a chance to get to know your instructor and for your instructor to cater to you. You can spend more time going in depth about the things you already know you want to be a part of your birth plan and explore the options you aren’t sure about together. If you have a question after your class is over you often have a way to contact your instructor.

Your private educator comes to you.

That’s right, you can learn everything you need to know on your own couch, while your toddler naps. No worrying about a babysitter. One less stressor in your already hectic, trying to get ready for this tiny human, life.

Your independent childbirth educator can be less biased.

They likely aren’t tied to a specific hospital or practice and can answer your questions about any of them with autonomy. They can tell which hospitals in the area allow water births and which pediatrician is going to be okay with your vaccination choices.

Private professional childbirth education is an exciting option for busy, modern families that want to optimize their time spent learning about birth with a personal touch and real relationship between you and your instructor.
