#Grateful for our postpartum doula, Mariah of Northwest PA Doulas, LLC βœ¨πŸ’žβœ¨ Did you know that there are birth doulas and postpartum doulas to support you throughout this transition? Having two older children and newborn twins, we needed all hands on deck! Mariah has been a tremendous help with daily household tasks, playing with the big kids, or caring for the babies while I escape to the shower or get a little exercise in. She can load the dishwasher and fold laundry while carrying a baby! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Each doula at Northwest PA Doulas knows how to safely care for baby, they can help with feeding and nursing support, and are even available for overnight care. Did you hire a pp doula or have family lined up to help with your transition as you brought your little one(s) home? It takes a village, my friends, don't do it alone πŸ’ž If you are in the Northwest PA region, check out Northwest PA Doulas for birth and postpartum doula support πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’• -Amy Griffith mother of 4

5 stars for sure!!! Chrissy and Mariah are fabulous! Their positive energy level is the perfect level of encouraging for a worrisome momma like me. I love how up front they are with what they can help with, and, if something is a question better suited for a doctor (even though they probably know the answer, it's not the doula's job for medical advice), they'll be happy to listen and suggest who is best to ask.

I texted and messaged often after hiring NWPA Doulas. They never took long to get back with me and never gave me the impression my questions were silly.

I took advantage of a few of the classes that come with the doula package we chose. Even though this was my second child, I still learned tricks and ideas for before, during and after birth.

I could have done this birth without them, but I wouldn't want to. I don't believe it would have gone anywhere as smoothly. I'm thankful and grateful to have hired them. I recommend them to any expecting momma in the area!

Your Best Postpartum &
Comfort Measures for Labor Class Attendee

We used Northwest PA Doulas for both a group class (baby basics) and a private in home class (comfort measures for labor). I cannot say enough about them, they are amazing! Chrissy was so helpful and down to earth and they really make you feel calm and less anxious for your upcoming birth. Although we did not hire a doula for the birth, Chrissy reached out to us after the birth to see how everything went and offered any help if we needed it. Really makes you feel cared for!

These women are amazing! When my husband and I found out we were expecting, I knew I wanted support (in addition to my doctor, who is also amazing) in helping me navigate a healthy and natural pregnancy, labor, and delivery. We were thrilled to find the NWPA Doulas. Mariah and Chrissy are both so warm and kind. They are so passionate and knowledgeable, but they also truly take the time to listen and understand. We attended several of the classes, and found them to be both educational and empowering. My husband and I definitely left the classes with a greater sense of confidence in caring for our baby. These women were especially amazing on the big day. I texted them at the crack of dawn when I felt contractions, and they provided so much support and reassurance throughout the day. I can truly say that I had a perfect labor and delivery, in large part, because of them. Chrissy was by my side, providing physical and emotional support, helping me communicate with nurses and doctors, and most importantly, helping my husband and mom be involved in meaningful ways. It turned out to be such a beautiful experience for all of us, and I am so grateful for them for helping us achieve that. πŸ’• Even weeks after baby was born, they continued to be a trusted source of knowledge and support. I lost count of how many β€œfirst time mom” questions I bothered them with. They always responded with warmth and reassurance. These women really are amazing, knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and kind. I can not recommend their services enough!

"These ladies rock. My husband and I had our son last Thursday, and after initial skepticism of what the heck a doula is, I've heard my husband tell countless friends and family in the days since how amazing they were for the whole pregnancy/birth experience. Thank you for bringing this service to Northwest PA!"

Postpartum Doula Client

To Whom it May Concern,

I have had the utmost pleasure of working with Mariah Post after the birth of my first child in January 2017. We decided to consider a postpartum doula after our family told us they were not able to come stay with us to help after the birth of our daughter. My fiancΓ© is a very private person so the thought of having a stranger in our home was nerve wracking for him but, after the initial consultation, as soon as she walked through our door and greeted us with a warm smile she quickly made us feel at ease by creating a non-judgmental environment. We knew at that moment that she was the right fit for our family and asked her to be part of the journey with us. Mariah is an extremely intelligent, loving, dedicated business owner and mother who is focused on making the lives of her clients easier by educating, supporting, helping, or simply just being there to listen when needed. I feel confident is saying that she can handle any situation with thoughtfulness and professionalism. I would highly recommend her and Northwest PA Doula's to anyone considering their services.

Sincerely,

Client

Your Best Postpartum Class Attendee

The 'Your Best Post Partum' class was great. You can take a group class and meet other moms, or schedule a private class. Classes can be tailored slightly to meet your needs. My class had mothers expecting a second child, so we didn't spend a lot of time on diapering, but we did discuss concerns about recovery with other children at home. (This class was taught by certified childbirth educator, Chrissy.)

Your Best Postpartum Class Attendee

I would highly recommend the your best postpartum class. Very informative and fun to do whether you have a private class or go to one of their planned classes. They are very accommodating and understanding with all the ups and downs that come with schedules and life. I would also just in general highly recommend Northwest Pa Doulas they care and will help with any questions that you may have as well as concerns. (This class was taught by certified childbirth educator, Chrissy)

Childbirth Education Class Attendee

I took Mariah's educational class before I had my second child, and the knowledge was AMAZING! Which made this the best birth I could have imagined! Thank you for offering such awesome services!!!

"When I found out I was pregnant I started researching what was best for my baby and decided I needed a doula to help my birth go as smoothly as possible. Luckily I knew just the lady: the leader of my local La Leche League, Mariah Post.

Mariah had just started her own doula business and was already so informed and knowledgeable. She made herself readily available via phone throughout my pregnancy for any concern I had. She was very supportive of my plan to have a natural unmedicated birth, however she made it known that the decisions were up to me.

Mariah met with me for two prenatal visits, including one at my gynecologist's office. It was nice to have her meet the doctor she would be working with. She helped me to prepare for birth and brought up things I should consider that I hadn't even thought of.

I live close to the hospital so I planned to labor at home as long as possible, with the support of Mariah, and then to head to the hospital when I couldn't wait any longer. When Mariah arrived she made sure I was doing okay and that I ate something. After laboring at home for over 12 hours with more helpful hip squeezes than I can count from Mariah, we went to the hospital to have my natural birth. I was 6cm dilated when I arrived and Mariah helped remind me to breathe and cooled me down with wet washcloths on my forehead. After an hour and a half it was already time to push. Twenty minutes later, my beautiful son was born on May 1, 2016 and was very healthy.

A couple weeks after my birth Mariah came to my house for a postpartum visit. She checked to see how I was doing and helped me figure out how to use my breast pump and ringsling, amongst other things. Her genuineness and caring nature are priceless. Thank you so much Mariah for helping me with my natural birth!"

"When I found out I was pregnant, I had no idea what a doula was, let alone that I would need one.
Then my best friend, Mariah, told me she was becoming a doula and explained to me what that entailed. I knew then I needed her to be there with me through the whole process.

Having her there for everything was amazing. She helped me through the pregnancy, false labor, the rough contractions during my active labor, bringing my beautiful son into this world, the first latch, and everything postpartum. She was also there to help my husband when he was unsure how to comfort me during labor.

My plan was to have a homebirth but with some complications I was rushed to the hospital to deliver my son. She was there for me and was so calm through all the commotion and help me stay as calm as I could be.

Mariah was there for me and had an answer for any question weather it it about pregnancy, labor, postpartum, or breastfeeding, as she is a LLL leader.

I would recommend her to anyone and I also plan on having her at my next birth (in a few years of course)."
