Your Best Postpartum | Northwest PA's Only Postpartum Placenta Specialists
Imagine this:
You come home from the hospital and of course, even though you are utterly exhausted, your baby stayed up most of the night.
But- a glimmer of hope! Your birth doula (and postpartum placenta specialist) pulls in your driveway and is here to encapsulate your placenta.
Since you're almost ready for a feeding, she sets up her work area (did she just do those dishes?!) and then joins you on the couch to help you navigate the trickiness of breastfeeding a newborn. She answers your questions and gives you tons of support.
After a while, she goes back to the kitchen and you talk back and forth as she works about your birth story, newborn care and of course, your own postpartum recovery. (The nitty gritty too, because doulas are totally comfortable with it!)
She gets done with the placenta process. You decided to try this because moms have reported increased milk supply, lowered risk of perinatal mood disorders and faster postpartum recovery. You are pretty surprised that your placenta encapsulator suited up from head to toe and brought all professional equipment straight to you. (Because no way did you want someone else's placenta pills... its important to do it at your house!) She rejoins you on the couch and you are still mentally and physically exhausted. She teaches you how to swaddle the baby effectively and gives you that one last nudge of encouragement you need. She'll be back tomorrow for a bit to answer questions during day two of placenta encapsulation and then again as she provides postpartum doula care to your family. You breathe out a sigh of relief and breathe in the confidence she just gave you. Tomorrow will be a better day.
