We'll explain 5 things that set modern doulas apart from all the rest.
1. Non-judgmental support. We don't place limits on you or your experience. We support every type of birth and every type of family. There is no "perfect way" to birth or parent. You make the choices and we support you no matter what! We always respect you and your family. After all, it's your experience, not ours!
2. Professionalism. This is not a hobby for us. We take our work seriously (though we know how to have fun too!). We answer the phone when you call and return texts and emails promptly. We speak and dress professionally and take pride in our work. We work hard to build bridges and maintain relationships with local hospitals and providers. We take care of ourselves and our business in order to make it sustainable. Longevity is important to us. We want to be around when you have your next baby too!
3. Modern Communication. We are available 24/7 for you to call, text, email, or FaceTime. You choose the method you are most comfortable with. We love when you check in with us from time to time. Our clients are so resourceful, kind, and FUN! It's our pleasure to answer your questions and listen when you need to vent... even at 2:00 am!
4. Attunement. We are trained to attune to your personality type. Because of this, we can jive with any type of family and learn how to "speak your language." Communication is so important in order to feel comfortable with your doula. We are experts in picking up on subtle cues and anticipating your needs.
5. We are all different. We don't fit into any "stereotype." We are married, single, gay, straight, mothers of many children, childless, different ages, different races, different religions, etc. We make varied choices for our own families but don't bring those bias' into our relationships with our clients. No two doulas are exactly alike, but we are all trained the same way!
