Meet Us, Chrissy | Erie's Best Childbirth Educator!
We at Northwest PA Doulas thought it would be a great idea to do a blog series on the fantastic women who work here.
Get to know our certified childbirth educator, Chrissy, below!
1.) Where is your hometown and what is one thing you love about it?
I grew up in North East, PA. It's known for it's grape vineyards, wineries, and beautiful sunsets over Lake Erie. I have so many great memories of simple things like bike riding and exploring my grandparents woods and creek.
2.) If you could max out your credit card at any store, what store would you choose?
I'm obsessed with cute baby clothes and shoes. At the moment my favorite store is Carter's. For myself, I like online boutiques like Filly Flair.
3.) What was your favorite toy as a kid?
I loved playing with Barbies. I also remember having Cabbage Patch dolls-- those were the best!
4.) If you woke up tomorrow as an animal, what animal would you choose to be and why?
A kangaroo, for sure! Who wouldn't want to live in Australia?! Plus, they keep their young close to them for months, their pouches contain mammary glands, and they are only pregnant for about a month! Can you tell I've thought about this one before?
5.) What do you think is the perfect age? Why?
I'm can't say I'm "looking forward" to my thirties, but I do anticipate a lot of exciting life events coming up in the next few years!
6.) What is a typical day like for you?
My oldest son is in first grade, so he's at school for part of the day. I spend all day with my two-year-old son. Our favorite places are the library, Children's Museum, and the Zoo but my little guy can even make a trip to the grocery store an adventure! I do a lot of volunteer work that keeps me busy. If I'm lucky, I enjoy a relaxing bath and getting some reading in after the kids go to bed!
7.) Which person in your life do you most admire? Why?
My mother-in-law was the person I looked up to most. She was the kindest, most genuine soul I have ever met. She breastfed twin boys (one of them being my husband) and I can definitely respect that!
8.) What or who are you a closet fan of?
The Kardashians and The Bachelor/Bachelorette!
9.) What are 3 things still left on your bucket list?
1. Write a book
2. Travel to all 50 states
3. Plan a 50th anniversary party for my husband and I
10.) (And most important of all) Which way should the toilet paper hang? Over or under?
Over. Though it doesn't bother me if someone replaces it the wrong way. I'm just happy to have anyone replace it at all!
