Meet Devastasha!

We are thrilled to welcome Devastasha as our newest affiliated doula! Her ability to instill confidence in new parents, coupled with her calm demeanor and easy-to-talk-to personality, make her a fabulous doula! To learn more about Devastasha, read on!

What is your favorite song at the moment?

Right now, my favorite is "Rainbow" by Kesha. That entire album is so empowering for me.

What's the craziest thing you've ever done?

I got a giant tattoo on my leg without telling anyone I was even thinking about getting one. I haven't really done anything crazy, even as a teenager. I was a pretty good/ safe/ nervous kid. 

What is your biggest fear?

My biggest fear is anything happening to my children. I also am terrified at the thought of tornadoes and house fires.

What did you want to be when you were little?

The first job I can remember wanting was circus acrobat. Even as a teenager, I imagined running away with the circus.

What makes you laugh the most?

Good stand-up comedy or my ridiculous children saying crazy things.

What makes you a great doula?

I can read the energy of people, and I'm good at staying calm and helping calm others. I also love helping the non-birthing partner be supportive to the birthing person. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a couple lovingly bring their baby earthside.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would you do?

I would go on an archaeological dig. I don't care if it's fossils or artifacts from past civilizations, I think it's all fascinating.

What are your favorite TV shows?

I love watching TV series, but my favorites are probably (in no particular order): Desperate Housewives; Jane the Virgin; Blackish; Pretty Little Liars.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part is when a client or friend tells me that they feel more confident after talking to me. I love being able to build up others.
